Senior Navigation Officer

\

CSL Australia is seeking a permanent full-time Senior Navigation Officer to join their cement carrier fleet.

\

The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating day-to-day tasks, managing a team, ensuring safe and proper vessel operation, and overseeing cargo duties.

  • Supporting loading and discharge plans preparation\
  • Undertaking Chief Officer watchkeeping duties in port and at sea\
  • Managing all matters related to cargo, spaces, systems, and handling\
  • Supervising and training crew engaged in cargo duties\
  • Enforcing safety precautions and regulations\
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are properly carried out\
  • Having comprehensive knowledge of maintenance and repair needs\
  • Providing guidance and support to Deck Officers and Cadets\
  • Coordinating with other departments to achieve operational goals\
  • Developing and implementing new procedures to improve vessel efficiency\\/ul>\

Requirements include:

  • \
  • At least 12 months documented qualifying seagoing service in charge of navigation watch\
  • MSIC Card (required or ability to obtain)\
  • Working Safely at Heights certification (required or ability to obtain)\
  • Enter and Work in a Confined Workspace certification (required or ability to obtain)\
  • Current AMSA Medical certification (required or ability to obtain)\
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills\
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment\\/ul>\

Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to make sound decisions under pressure. They should also have a strong focus on safety and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of vessel operation.
