The Role

This Equipment Maintenance Technician role is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Visy Beverage Can Smithfield. As an integral part of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery within our Beverage Can Plant.

Your primary goal will be to ensure the production of high-quality, low-cost products while fully complying with Visy values. You will work closely with the Maintenance & Engineering Manager to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.

  • Maintain and repair machinery to prevent downtime and optimize production.
  • Perform routine checks and planned maintenance to retain machine efficiency.
  • Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs of machinery.
  • Carry out general overhauls to machinery as required.
  • Maintain stock levels of spare parts to facilitate timely repairs.
  • Update and maintain data records on works carried out.
  • Uphold and adhere to company policies and procedures in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualifications (Certificate III or higher) in a Fitting/Machine discipline.
  • Solid experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience would be highly regarded.
  • Computer literacy – MS Office, SAP knowledge or similar related software applications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
