Volunteering can be a highly rewarding experience, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person. As a social volunteer, you will have the opportunity to provide companionship and social interaction.
Regular visits from volunteers can help improve the quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation for older people. This role involves visiting a gentleman in his home for a cuppa and chat, which can be weekly or fortnightly depending on your availability.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving the lives of others and enjoy interacting with people. They will also need to meet certain eligibility criteria, including being 18 years or older and having a National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for.
This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for those who want to make a positive impact in their community. You will be required to commit to one hour per week or fortnight for 6 months or longer, between 9am-5pm.
