Amazon is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team. Located in our BNE1 Fulfillment Centre in Lytton, Brisbane, this role is a full-time night shift position with a 10-hour shift pattern, including four days and one weekend day.
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment within the site. You will put health and safety best practices first in all work carried out, react quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to fix the issue. You will also support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through your line manager. Additionally, you will provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers and support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
A Day in the Life
As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to ensure it is working safely. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. Furthermore, you will make suggestions for long-term improvements and work alongside senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks in general building maintenance.
About the Team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team is responsible for keeping our equipment performing at its best. We are a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centres.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have formal trade qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Electrotechnology with a current electrical trade license or a Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). You will also need experience of planned preventative maintenance systems, fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems, and the ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings. Additionally, you will need experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters, and working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations. Preferred qualifications include experience of computer maintenance systems (CMMS), sortation machines, industrial environments, maintaining/configuring bar code scanners, and print and apply machines.
