About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a Maintenance and Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance on our equipment to ensure it is working safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on our equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams, and work efficiently to fix the issue.
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
  • Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
  • Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.

A Day in the Life

As a Maintenance and Engineering Technician, you will be based on-site, allowing you to respond quickly to any machinery issues. You will carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks to ensure our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We are a technically-minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders.

Requirements

  • Formal Trade Qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering/Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner)
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters
  • Experience of working to appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
