Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to be part of a dynamic team in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Perth. As a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality clinical management and treatment to patients of the service.
  • Uphold and elevate professional standards while fostering an academic environment that supports education, research, and professional development.
  • Actively contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship (or pending Fellowship) with the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
  • Completion (or approaching completion) of the Certificate in Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (RANZCP) or equivalent is highly desirable.

The CAMHS Crisis Connect provides phone and online videocall support for children and young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The Inpatient Unit (Ward 5A), Perth Children's Hospital offers inpatient mental health care for young people up to 16 years old. The Gender Diversity Service is a specialist outpatient service for the assessment and care of children and adolescents experiencing gender diversity issues.
