Job Description

Job Title: Finance and Operations Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance and Operations Officer to join our team at the Tasmania Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial and operational support to our organization, ensuring the effective management of our finances and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial support to the organization, including budget management, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the management of the agency's assets, including office equipment, inventory, and ICT hardware.
  • Support the management of the organization's operations, including business improvement initiatives and sustainability agenda.
  • Assist with the administration of the ICT hardware fleet, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate repairs and replacements.
  • Manage the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the office, maintaining office and ICT management systems, ergonomics, and office equipment.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Providing financial support to the organization, including budget management, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Assisting with the management of the agency's assets, including office equipment, inventory, and ICT hardware.
  • Supporting the management of the organization's operations, including business improvement initiatives and sustainability agenda.
  • Assisting with the administration of the ICT hardware fleet, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate repairs and replacements.
  • Managing the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the office, maintaining office and ICT management systems, ergonomics, and office equipment.

What You'll Work On:

  • Finance and Budget Management: Assist with the management of and provide advice to staff on finance and budget management.
  • Business Improvement: Gather insights and make recommendations regarding business improvement initiatives, including assisting in the development of policies, procedures, guidelines, reports, and templates that enhance the quality of the Operations program and ensure utilisation, efficiencies, and simplification where possible.
  • Sustainability Agenda: Support the management of the organization's operations with a positive impact sustainability agenda, including consumption and carbon emissions reporting, preparing associated documentation, and making sustainability initiative recommendations.
  • Information and Communications Technology (ICT): Assist with the administration of the ICT hardware fleet, monitor inventory levels, coordinate repairs and replacements, ensure efficient allocation of resources, and coordinate software licensing arrangements including renewals.
  • Asset Management: Maintain the agency's Asset Management Systems and manage inventory and the maintenance, replacement, and disposal of assets.
