About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Community Safety and Environmental Protection Officer to join our team at Campbelltown Civic Centre.

As a key member of our Local Council, you will play a vital role in public safety and environmental protection by conducting patrols, responding to enquiries, and enforcing various council regulations.

You'll be responsible for investigating complaints, issuing notices, and ensuring compliance with local laws, making a significant impact on community standards and customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular patrols to identify and address potential hazards
  • Responding to enquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Issuing penalty notices as required and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification or relevant experience in local government regulatory services
  • Strong knowledge of local government legislation, including the Local Government Act 1993 and Companion Animals Act 1998
  • Experience in a regulatory role with skills in issuing penalty notices using electronic devices
  • A current Class C driver's licence and ability to handle and control animals effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities, with strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work independently with a high level of discretion and professionalism

  • $81,000 - $88,000 per annum + super
