Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Housing/Shelter Support Worker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about providing support and services to individuals in need.
The Housing/Shelter Support Worker will work directly with clients to identify their problems, needs, and risks. They will plan and conduct individual counseling sessions using evidence-based techniques, provide basic life skills building in problem areas, and engage residents in various activities to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of social work principles and practices, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma in a related human/social service field
- A minimum of one (1) year recent related experience
- Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Training in or knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approach
- Knowledge of services available to shelter users and residents
- Ability to work independently and show initiative and creativity
- Ability to deal in a positive collaborative fashion with residents, shelter users, and community contacts
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers both verbally and in writing
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills
Benefits:
• Competitive hourly rate: $31.56 - $33.49 per hour for full-time positions and $31.56 - $33.49 per hour plus 5% in lieu of paid holidays for part-time position

Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to navigate stairs and be on feet for up to 6 hours of shift
- Ability to kneel down to ground to attend to overdoses and other medical emergencies
