Lead Policy Advisor - Indigenous Rights

Job Description:

The Department of State and Regional Development is seeking a highly skilled Lead Policy Advisor to join our team. As the Policy Manager, Advancing Traditional Owner Rights, you will be responsible for leading policy development and providing authoritative advice to senior executives on matters related to Indigenous rights.

  • Develop and implement policies that promote the rights and interests of Traditional Owners;
  • Provide expert advice on policy matters related to treaty and self-determination;
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment between government programs and reforms impacting Traditional Owners.

Requirements:

  • Highly developed people management skills;
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with experience in policy analysis and advice;
  • Excellent project management and planning skills;
  • Outstanding written communication skills including the ability to prepare briefs and reports;
  • Experience in leading a team in an environment requiring flexibility and adaptability.
