Job Overview:

The Schools Grounds Officer role is responsible for delivering high-quality grounds care and maintenance services to support the effective operation of our schools.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the appearance and functionality of school grounds, which are essential for providing a positive learning environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional grounds care and support services to the Principal or Business Manager.
  • Maintain school ovals through regular mowing, watering, and soil maintenance.
  • Undertake lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and using appropriate insecticides and fertilizers where necessary.
  • Care for trees, shrubs, and gardens.
  • Conduct general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, maintaining a safe working environment.

Other duties include coordinating the removal and/or disposal of rubbish and attending to or arranging repairs and maintenance within the school.

  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and bending.
