Job Title: Senior WHS&E Leader

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive WHS&E strategy that aligns with the organisation's objectives.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing WHS&E team, providing guidance and oversight to ensure excellence in safety and environmental performance.
  • Integrate regulatory requirements and industry best practices into organisational systems, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder representative, engaging with regulators, government agencies, customers, industry partners, and the executive leadership team.
  • Foster a culture of safety excellence, driving behavioural change and promoting a proactive approach to risk management.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a full-scale transformation of safety culture and performance in a critical infrastructure organisation. The successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHSE or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in senior leadership roles within high-risk industries, including defence, construction, aviation, oil & gas, or mining.
  • Proven success in engaging with regulators, boards, and executives to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Expertise in building, leading, and embedding best-practice frameworks for safety and environmental performance.
  • A results-driven approach to improving underperforming safety environments.

Professional certifications, union engagement experience, and familiarity with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 are highly valued.
