Our organisation is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Specialist to join our team. This role will involve working across various projects, providing support and guidance to our operations regarding environmental risk management, advising on regulatory matters and assisting in sustaining and improving internal strategies.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. They will be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Key responsibilities of the role include collaborating with the team on national environment strategies, assisting the national health, safety and compliance manager with integrated management plans and project support, providing research and project support for the technical team and supporting HSEQ advisors with environmental knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental sciences or relevant disciplines
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar position within the waste industry or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing projects of a similar nature within a complex organisation
  • Capability to undertake research on best practice, evidence-based strategies, or relevant policies, and translate this to an organisational context
