Water Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a motivated individual to take the next step in their Structural Engineering career to work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects based in our Brisbane or Gold Coast office.
The role involves taking on key responsibilities within project teams undertaking the design and assessment of various water and wastewater structures, including concrete process tanks, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated facilities.
As a Water Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for performing advanced structural engineering design tasks on assigned projects under minimal supervision, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
You will also develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for small size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
You will collaborate with stakeholders in client project requirement meetings, coordination meetings with internal and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors in preparation and coordination of project specifications.
Additionally, you will participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors to develop solutions.
You may perform on technically complex projects and act as a technical resource to other team members.
You will apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of structural engineering and keep informed of new methods and developments.
You will apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited.
You will assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation.
In this role, you will work closely with a diverse network of colleagues who are passionate about delivering high-quality solutions to our clients.
With an estimated salary of $110,000 per year, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and expertise while working on exciting projects that positively impact our communities.
To succeed in this role, you will require a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering – with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Holding or working towards RPEQ and/or Chartership is highly regarded.
You will need at least 4 years' experience within a consulting engineering practice, involvement in the structural design of civil or industrial infrastructure with a focus on concrete and steel.
Strong problem-solving abilities, a strong ability to prioritize workloads, and the capacity to develop trusting work relationships with our clients and colleagues are essential.
Past site experience, including inspections and construction support, would be highly regarded.
