This is a highly sought-after position as an Occupational Recognition Services Lead. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in driving forward the development and implementation of the Occupational Recognition Service.

Job Overview

The Occupational Recognition Service (ORS) is a unique legislative power given to South Australia through the South Australian Skills Act 2008. The service aims to certify that a person's skills or experience in a particular occupation are equivalent to that of a graduating apprentice or trainee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide expert leadership, direction, and advice to manage the legislative framework surrounding the ORS.
  • Strategic Engagement: Engage with key government and non-government stakeholders to provide strategic advice on whole-of-government policy, Cabinet and Parliament, governance, legislative policy, and intergovernmental relations issues.
  • Regulatory Reform: Develop and implement strategies, initiatives, and programs of work to support regulatory reform objectives and compliance with legislation requirements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
  • Fully understand regulatory frameworks and the principles of effective regulation.
  • Demonstrate exceptional project management skills with the ability to lead projects and manage resources within timeframes and budget.
  • Capable of developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies, initiatives, and programs of work.
