Clinical Nurse Specialist Role

Our Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our established nursing team in Sydney's Bella Vista.

This role will involve close collaboration with the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting and mentoring the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of excellent standard evidence-based person-centred patient care.
  • You will also demonstrate professional practice by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements, and Healthscope policies and processes.
  • Additionally, you will foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining your own professional learning and continuous professional development.
  • You will act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices including participating in departmental and hospital quality improvements and projects.
  • Collaboration with external partners to ensure patients receive high-quality care across the healthcare continuum will also be required.
  • Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with VMO partners using a customer service mindset to enable high-quality patient outcomes is essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in ED with strong clinical experience and knowledge in resuscitation, triage, and team leader roles
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing or working towards
  • Understanding of the Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work within a team environment
  • Demonstrated high written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
