Midwife Opportunity in Dynamic Post-Natal Ward

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic Post-Natal ward with a dedicated team of midwives, obstetricians and neonatologists.

We are seeking full-time and part-time Registered Midwives to join our maternity care team. With an amazing team of neonatal nurses and midwives and world-class maternity care, Prince of Wales Private Hospital offers the next step in your career.

You will have the opportunity to work across the Birth Unit and Special Care Nursery on a rotational basis as required. Our dedicated maternity educator will support your upskilling and provide a great introduction to the unit.

Your Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based midwifery care and provide exceptional patient experience to women and their families.
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Supervise, direct and guide midwifery/nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care.
  • Deliver education and support to mothers and their families.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Current Midwifery Registration with AHPRA.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Special Care Nursery experience advantageous.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Works well independently and within a team.
  • Compliance with NSW Health Policy PD2020_017 Occupational Screening, Assessment & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
  • Basic computer skills.
