The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Equipment Mechanic based in Launceston. This role involves assembling, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of mining and construction equipment to customer specifications and providing quality diagnostic and general maintenance services in a professional, timely manner.
You will also be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities
- The repair and maintenance of both new and used equipment
- Conducting basic failure analysis and identifying specific modes of failure
- Preparing and testing pre-delivery inspections of new equipment
- Ensuring all work carried out is performed in a safe manner
- Completing and submitting all relevant paperwork and reports
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in line with our 5S standards
To be successful in this role:
Requirements
- A relevant Mechanical Trade qualification - Commercial Vehicle trades will also be considered
- Previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair, and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment
- High Risk Work licences (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc) - highly regarded
- A safety focus with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
- Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work
