We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to join our team. As a key member of our Mine Engineering & Geology team, you will collaborate with talented professionals on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes for clients and communities.

This role will be based in the Perth office, with hybrid working available.

Mining

Our mining team helps clients optimise performance, boost profitability, and operate responsibly. We have a comprehensive understanding of the mining industry and current issues including decarbonisation. A deep knowledge of geological data analysis, geological modelling, resource estimation, technical reviews, exploration services, and technical due diligence is essential for success in this field.

About the Role

This is a leadership role that requires strong technical and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical advice and mentoring on complex mining and geological issues to clients and internal staff;
  • Actively undertaking business development and client development activities to ensure continuity of work;
  • Providing guidance to project teams working across a range of technical disciplines and commodities;
  • Preparing tenders, proposals, and reports for both internal and external clients;
  • Supervising, reviewing, and evaluating activities undertaken by junior staff;
  • Liaising with specialists from other disciplines and offices within the organisation;
  • Providing safety leadership in identifying and alleviating high-priority safety hazards;
  • Mentoring and developing staff in the interests of their long-term career objectives and operational needs;
  • Conducting all work to satisfy company, client, and government conditions, policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Geologist who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or a related discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience in one of the industry-accepted mine planning and geology software packages (e.g. Vulcan, Leapfrog, Surpac, or Datamine);
  • Experience within a mining environment;
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team of professionals;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail;
  • An advanced level of computer literacy and the ability to analyse data;
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to build relationships with both internal and external clients;
  • Excellent communication skills, strong report writing skills, and problem-solving ability.
