About the Role

This position plays a crucial role in supporting mining exploration and geoscience operations. The full-time role is based in Melbourne or Perth office and requires providing technical expertise and solutions to ensure the safety and stability of mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting geological and geotechnical assessments
  • Ground support analysis and design, including slopes, foundations, underground (tunnels and mines)
  • Review of ground support
  • Design parameter recommendations
  • Foundation analysis
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement mining plans
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations
  • Ensuring all work is conducted in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering and minimum 5 years' experience as a Geotechnical Engineer, preferably within the mining industry.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in soil and rock mechanics, slope stability analysis, and ground support design, along with proficiency in using geotechnical software and modelling tools.

Able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills, effective communication and stakeholder management abilities, and commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
