We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Centre Technician to join our team at NEXTDC. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer communication skills to handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks related to OH&S, security, and facility technical operations to ensure compliance with NEXTDC's risk profile.
- Infrastructure Support: Provide integration and coordination points for infrastructure supporting critical support systems, power monitoring, and rack locking.
- Equipment Handling: Assist with customer deliveries, handling of equipment, and assembly as required.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support up to 6 direct reports to strive for continual improvement and professional development.
- Critical System Monitoring: Monitor critical systems through Building Management Systems, diagnose failures, and escalate as required.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role in a colocation facility or data centre.
- Technical Skills: Experience with test equipment, OTDR, fibre optic installations, and Building Management Systems.
