About this role

The Policy Manager will play a key part in shaping and delivering legislative, strategic and policy priorities related to national heavy vehicle reform.

Key responsibilities of this role are:
Develop and implement evidence-based regulatory policy in line with the policy development cycle.
- Develop and implement strategic heavy vehicle policy in alignment with the broader NHVR's strategic plan.
- Provide evidence-based advice to support informed decision-making on a range of legislative, strategic and operational policy matters relevant to the NHVR.
- Proactively contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and continued improvement of strategic policy and legislative frameworks.
- Prepare complex policy documents including briefing notes, policy position papers and options, reports, procedural documentation, templates and other sensitive correspondence.
- Support enhancement of the NHVR capacity, capability, and strategic alignment through business improvement and development

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess
- 3+ years' experience as a Policy Advisor or related roles
- Demonstrated experience with high levels of written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects to deliver timely and effective results in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated fundamental skills in; research, analysis and problem-solving, evidenced by an ability to frame complex issues clearly and precisely.
