Transport Policy Specialist

The Transport Policy Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing a policy program that aligns with the organization's understanding of future opportunities and challenges in the transport sector. This will involve working closely with stakeholders to ensure the policy program is effective and achieves strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and maintaining frameworks that provide authoritative advice on key processes and products.
  2. Managing the development and implementation of complex strategic transport projects, policy, frameworks, and/or programs that provide direction for the transport system in Queensland.
  3. Informing and coordinating the strategic positioning activities of the Department of TMR in response to emerging customer requirements and local, state, and national transport system policy and issues.
  4. Coordinating the identification, research, and analysis of a broad range of issues, risks, and challenges confronting the transport system, including emerging customer requirements.
  5. Preparing timely and well-researched cabinet submissions, briefs, and/or policy documents, and providing authoritative advice on transport system priorities, policy, and challenges to the Minister, ministerial staff, and executive management.
