We are seeking an experienced Strategic Contract Manager to join our team at the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) in Osborne, South Australia. Reporting to the Head of Commercial & Partnerships, you will play a critical role in managing the commercial aspects of allocated contracts and relationships to support programs at ASC.

This is a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for ensuring all obligations accepted by ASC align with corporate goals and values, and are achievable within assigned scope and budget with an acceptable level of risk.

About the Role:

  • Provide strategic commercial advice, business development, and bidding support to the wider ASC team
  • Develop, mentor, and grow commercial capability within the commercial team
  • Prepare and review internal reports and briefing papers on commercial matters
  • Proactively respond to and deliver commercial analysis
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ASC stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business Management, Commerce, Procurement, or related discipline
  • 10 years post-graduate experience in a commercial, legal, or advisory role
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and developing complex contracts
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships and manage stakeholder relations
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting agreements, providing commercial advice, and managing commercial risk
