Environmental Advisor Role

The Karara site is set to operate for 30+ years, making it a sustainable long-term iron ore business that benefits the local community.

We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Advisor to join our environment team at Karara. This role reports to the Environment Superintendent and focuses on environmental fieldwork activities and compliance management for the Greater Karara Project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of State and Federal Environmental Legislation and experience in similar roles within the mining or resources industry.

This position operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off rotation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assisting in inter-departmental tasks as needed,

- Conducting environmental monitoring programs (flora, fauna, dust, air, water, and soil),

- Analyzing and reporting environmental data,

- Managing weeds and feral animals,

- Providing wildlife care and native fauna handling,

- Participating in rehabilitation programs, including seed collection, nursery management, and tube stock planting,

- Conducting environmental inspections and providing training on environmental topics,

- Ensuring environmental compliance through various means.

Essential qualifications and competencies include:

- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Management,

- A WA 'C class' driver's license,

- Proven experience in a similar role in the environmental industry,

- Knowledge of State and Federal environmental legislation,

- Fauna handling training, particularly with snakes and fauna rehabilitation,

- National Police Clearance, and

- Permanent work rights in Australia.
