**Rigging Artist Position Overview**

Job Description:

As a skilled Rigging Artist, you will play a pivotal role in our animation team by creating complex production-ready rigs for our upcoming project. You will collaborate with the Modeling Department to ensure models are suitable for rigging and performance requirements, work with Animators to develop and prototype rigs for various creative and technical needs, and support rigs throughout the animation pipeline.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality rigs that meet the required standards. This includes working closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of your work into the larger project.

To excel in this position, you should possess at least 3 years' experience in feature animation, VFX, and/or animated television with a focus on Rigging. Proficiency in Maya and a strongly node-oriented approach to problems is also essential. Additionally, proficiency in Python and ability to navigate a large managed code base are necessary skills for success in this role.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Produce high-quality rigs that meet the required standards
  • Collaborate with the Modeling Department to ensure models are suitable for rigging and performance requirements
  • Work with Animators to develop and prototype rigs for various creative and technical needs
  • Support rigs throughout the animation pipeline
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and ability to troubleshoot and manage support during published rigs. A foundational knowledge of trigonometry and linear algebra, experience with character-related simulation (soft tissues and localized secondary), experience with cloth simulation, and experience with C++ are all highly desirable skills for this position.
