Rigging Artist

We are seeking a skilled Rigging Specialist to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for creating complex production-ready rigs for our upcoming project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create high-standard rigs that meet production requirements
  • Collaborate with the Modeling Department to ensure models meet rigging and performance needs
  • Work with Animators to develop and prototype rigs for various creative and technical purposes
  • Support rigs as they move through the animation pipeline and develop supplementary Animation tools and processes

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in feature animation, VFX, or animated television with a focus on Rigging
  • Proficiency in Maya and node-oriented approach to problems
  • Proficiency in Python and ability to navigate a managed code base or willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage communication during the support phase of published rigs
  • Comfortable working to specifications and creatively as outlined in a brief

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Foundational knowledge of trigonometry and linear algebra
  • Experience with character-related simulation, cloth simulation, and C++
