Job Description:

Macmahon is seeking a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in mining operations to lead and influence high-impact projects across our contract mining portfolio.

As a Principal – Technical Services & Estimating, you will be responsible for leading technical services and estimating functions across multiple mining projects. You will drive operational excellence through innovative mine modelling and productivity initiatives, mentor and coach technical teams to build capability and deliver value, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop commercially sound and technically robust solutions.

You will review feasibility studies, optimize schedules and designs, and review operational risk. Excellent knowledge of mining methods and equipment is required, as well as a strong understanding of operational drivers that enhance productivity, efficiency, and client value. Proven relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders are essential, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline is necessary, along with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a contract mining environment. You should have a proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines, as well as a high attention to detail and a track record of developing successful initiatives.
