Optical Assistant Role Overview

The Optical Assistant plays a vital role in meeting customers' eyecare needs and providing outstanding service. They will work closely with optometrists and the support office team to achieve excellent results.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer experiences by addressing their inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
  • Assist optometrists in various tasks, such as preparing patients for eye exams, handling patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Support the sales process by answering questions about products and services, making recommendations, and processing transactions.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to effectively assist customers and promote optical services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve store goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Customer Experience: Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality or a similar industry.
  • Optical Experience: While not essential, previous experience is highly regarded.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and helping solve customers' eyecare needs.
  • Energy: A love of working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change.
  • Effectiveness: The ability to manage your time and operational requirements while prioritizing customer satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Critical thinking and product/optics knowledge to help solve customer vision problems.
  • Teamwork: A strong rapport with fellow team members, management and support office team.
