Job Title: Community Shelter Worker
Job Summary: This is a vital role within our organization, focusing on providing direct support to residents and shelter users.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of resident support plans and delivery of essential services.
- Establish meaningful relationships with residents, fostering trust and understanding.
- Perform regular wellness checks and maintain a safe environment for all individuals.
- Deliver life skills training and provide individual counseling sessions as required.
- Accurately record and report statistics, ensuring seamless communication with partner agencies.
- Liaise with external professionals and participate in collaborative working groups.
- Accompany residents to meetings and appointments, documenting incident reports as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Training in crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to shelter users and residents.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and showcase creativity.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills.
