Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Housing/Shelter Support Worker.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a strong commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for marginalized individuals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement resident support plans in collaboration with the team.
- Build trustful relationships with residents while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Conduct wellness checks and distribute essential supplies to ensure residents' well-being.
- Accompany residents to appointments and meetings as required.
- Liaise with partner agencies and professionals to provide comprehensive support services.
- Basic computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention techniques and harm reduction approaches.
- Familiarity with local services available to shelter users and residents.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative and creativity.
