As a Navy Diver, you'll embark on a thrilling career that combines diving and combat skills. This role is perfect for individuals who are eager to learn and adapt to new situations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diving missions and operations to depths of up to 80 metres
- Neutralise and dispose of underwater explosives, search for objects, and perform underwater engineering and maintenance tasks
- Participate in tactical operations, underwater demolitions, and other critical missions
- Rotate through various sea and shore positions, including mine hunting vessels, Australian clearance diving teams, and instructional roles
As a Navy Diver, you'll develop a range of skills, including:
- Expertise in underwater operations, including diving, search, and salvage
- Knowledge of underwater electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools
- Experience with specialist diving equipment, including circuit re-breathers and remote positioning vehicles
- Understanding of mine warfare and counter measures
- Ability to work in a team and contribute to expeditionary reconnaissance and clearance missions
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high degree of stamina and physical fitness
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
