About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to join our team at Strike 1 Recruitment. This is a critical leadership position that will work closely with the Managing Director to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and review of financial statements and taxation returns
  • Structuring for tax effectiveness and asset protection
  • Tax consulting and business advisory
  • Attending to complex income tax issues and prepare advice pieces where necessary
  • Management of internal and client communications
  • Developing and managing strong client relationships and own client base
  • Leading and mentoring a team
  • Assist with converting prospects/leads into new clients
  • Exposure to complex and high-profile clients
  • Utilize best practice suite of cloud-based software and systems
Requirements
  • Possess a minimum of 8 years Australian public practice experience in Tax and Business Services
  • Strongly align with our vision, mission, and values
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Exceptional communication, people skills, and work ethic
  • Experience working as a manager or director within business services
  • Strong technical knowledge in tax and accounting principles
  • Experience with complex structures including SMSFs
  • Friendly, positive, and personable, yet ambitious, motivated, and driven
  • Highest standard of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Highly value long-term, strong relationships
  • Ability to communicate, report to, and present to clients is essential
  • You want to make a difference/meaningful contribution in the lives of clients, the team in which you work, and the broader community
  • Ability to contribute to and develop the firm's leadership team along with mentoring the accounting team on Tax Advisory and technical matters
  • Proficient in Xero, XPM, and Excel
