About the Opportunity

Skilled Medical is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist in Psychiatry to join their team in Western Sydney. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity for a psychiatrist to take on a key clinical leadership position, supporting care provision and continuity across various locations.

The successful candidate will work closely with the NUM/Team Leader and interdisciplinary team to ensure timely assessment and review leading to disposition plans for consumers. They will be responsible for occupying a key clinical leadership role in TAC and within the Service, supporting the Psychiatrist in their clinical work and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced psychiatrist to take on a challenging role and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide expert mental health services to patients in a psychiatry setting, demonstrating commitment to person-centred, recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, and need-adapted principles of care.
  • To support and work collaboratively in interprofessional contexts, including lived-experience professionals, and demonstrate expertise and experience relevant to the position.
  • To communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information in a clear and respectful manner.
  • To contribute to the teaching and supervision of medical staff, non-medical colleagues, and students, promoting interprofessional learning and development.
Requirements
  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZP) or equivalent as provided for in the Health Services Act 1997.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development and reflective practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an interprofessional context, supporting and working with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
About the Salary

The successful candidate can expect a salary in the range of $186,241 - $229,825 per annum, depending on level of experience, plus managerial allowances of $24,225-$60,565 per annum.
