Disability Support Worker Role

The Disability Support Worker plays a vital role in providing person-centered quality support services to individuals with disabilities. This position involves working in various settings, including homes, workplaces, and community environments, to empower clients to build their independence and relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal and physical care, including grooming, toileting, meal preparation, and assistance with daily living tasks
  • Support clients to participate in activities, hobbies, and relationships in the community
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights, ensuring they receive the best possible support
  • Complete client documentation, including case notes and communication booklets

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, such as Cert IV in Disability or Individual Support
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and prioritize client needs
  • Understanding of and commitment to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Code of Conduct
