Indigenous Leadership Role

This senior position is designed to support the QPS and lead the First Nations Command in developing a more inclusive approach towards Indigenous peoples, communities, and organisations. The successful candidate will be expected to apply strategic thinking, collaboration, and commitment to improving outcomes for First Nations Australians.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to address over-representation of Indigenous peoples in the criminal justice system;
  • Working closely with the Commissioner and QPS Executive Leadership Team to drive collaborative partnerships with Indigenous peoples, organisations, and communities;
  • Identifying and prioritising initiatives to embed strong relationships and achieve long-term generational changes.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories.
