Job Title:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a key role that oversees health, safety, and environmental matters.

The successful candidate will have the capability to handle multiple complex situations simultaneously and a demonstrated record in positively influencing key stakeholders.

In addition, the ability and willingness to complete other SHET tasks such as incident investigations, risk assessments, observations and assisting line managers is a must.

  • Develop and implement risk assessments aligned with project schedules
  • Lead a project-specific SHET monitoring program based on activity-specific risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents and report findings
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Safety and Health, Environment and Training Management Plans and advise on possible improvements
  • Record all incidents accurately and provide visibility into site operations
  • Audit, inspect and observe sites to demonstrate leadership and sound practice
  • Monitor and report on implementation of SHET management plans and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project SHET registers
  • Contribute to SHET-focused content for communication forums
  • Assess compliance with site access requirements and facilitate inductions
  • Develop and deliver SHET information as required
  • Participate in broader improvement programs

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years mining site-based experience
  • Ability to lead risk assessments and facilitate audits
  • Incident reporting and investigation skills
