We are seeking a senior mechanical engineer with extensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions in the water sector. You will be part of our team that designs and delivers smart, resilient outcomes for urban and regional Australia.

The Opportunity

This win marks a transformative step in our ability to support clients in tackling their most complex infrastructure challenges. We are looking for a professional who can provide technical leadership during project delivery, collaborate with bid teams, work closely with procurement teams, build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior staff.

You will have deep technical expertise in all aspects of treatment plant and pumping station design: equipment selection and specification, process optimisation, construction support, and implementation of robust risk management practices aligned with WHS requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing technical leadership during project delivery – including oversight of mechanical design intent, equipment selection and installation practices.
  • Collaborating with bid teams to ensure alignment of mechanical design during tender phases; reviewing technical documentation; refining cost estimates; and developing competitive proposals.
  • Working closely with procurement teams to define scopes, engaging vendors (including RFQ processes), and coordinating equipment selection.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders – acting as a key technical liaison to present solutions confidently and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Mentoring junior staff; managing client relationships; evaluating tenders; developing contract documentation; and driving innovation on high-value projects.

Proven leadership in mechanical design for water or wastewater treatment projects is essential. Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, familiarity with digital engineering platforms (such as BIM/Revit), and the ability to deliver under pressure are highly regarded.
