We are seeking a seasoned Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive the development of complex water sector projects.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in delivering engineering solutions, including mechanical design, commissioning, and operations, as well as a proven track record in troubleshooting large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership during project delivery, collaborating with bid teams, working closely with procurement teams, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, mentoring junior staff, managing client relationships, evaluating tenders, developing contract documentation, and driving innovation on high-value projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership in mechanical design for water or wastewater treatment projects.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, familiarity with digital engineering platforms (such as BIM/Revit), and ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Extensive experience delivering complex engineering solutions in the water sector.
  • Deep technical expertise in all aspects of treatment plant and pumping station design: equipment selection and specification, process optimisation, construction support, and implementation of robust risk management practices aligned with WHS requirements and industry standards.
