We are seeking an experienced Mine Geologist with a background in open-cut coal operations to join one of Australia's largest coal producers. This role offers an exciting opportunity to elevate your career and contribute to the company's success.

The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, technical proficiency, innovation, and efficient time management. They will be responsible for providing onsite geological expertise, support, and mentorship to open-cut mining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily pit inspections to assess coal clean-up standards and report on factors affecting product quality or recovery.
  • Interpret geological models to support understanding of evolving pit conditions.
  • Perform high-wall mapping and structural analysis for timely integration into Short-Term and LOM Model updates.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of Short-Term and LOM Models.
  • Carry out coal quality and tonnage reconciliations.
  • Provide backup support to Engineering Geologists as required.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
  • Prior experience in an open-cut coal mining operation.
  • Proficiency in Vulcan software, with experience using tools like acQuire, Arcmap, Task Manager, and Geology Core.
  • A valid C-class driver's license.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Legislation.
  • Strong work ethic, motivation, and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to collaboration with mine planning and production teams.
