We are seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to contribute to one of Australia's largest coal producers, located in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite geological expertise, support, and mentorship to open-cut mining operations.
  • Conduct daily pit inspections, assessing coal clean-up standards and reporting on factors affecting product quality or recovery.
  • Interpret geological models to support understanding of evolving pit conditions.
  • Perform high-wall mapping and structural analysis for timely integration into Short-Term and LOM Model updates.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of Short-Term and LOM Models.
  • Carry out coal quality and tonnage reconciliations.
  • Provide backup support to Engineering Geologists as required.

About You:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
  • Prior experience in an open-cut coal mining operation.
  • Proficiency in Vulcan software, with experience using tools like acQuire, Arcmap, Task Manager, and Geology Core.
  • A valid C-class driver's license.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Coal Mining Safety and Health Legislation.
  • Strong work ethic, motivation, and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to collaboration with mine planning and production teams.
