Job Title: AO5 Procurement Officer

A key role in a Queensland State Government Department, this AO5 Procurement Officer position is available on an initial 3 Month contract with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end tender processes for various categories to achieve procurement goals.
  • Implement and ensure full compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation to maintain a strong procurement framework.
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relations to secure competitive pricing and high performance standards.
  • Communicate procurement strategies to staff and provide excellent customer service to the Department's clients.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance medium and major contracts and local procurement practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in government procurement roles with a strong understanding of government procurement processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
