As a seasoned Cloud Engineer, you will guide our Enterprise Services team in delivering robust and scalable Azure cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving cloud automation, designing key Azure services, and providing escalation support.
Key Responsibilities:- Mentor and lead a team of Cloud Engineers to deliver reliable and fault-tolerant Azure cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Owning the design, implementation, and ongoing support of key Azure services such as VMs, Azure SQL, PaaS services, etc.
- Driving cloud automation using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
- Providing escalation support on cloud incidents, fault resolution, and problem management.
- Collaborating across IT, architecture, and security teams to uphold cloud governance, compliance, and performance standards.
- Leading cloud strategy, planning, and budget discussions within Enterprise Services.
- Staying current with Azure technologies and promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
- Proven experience leading technical specialists in a cloud engineering environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Demonstrated expertise as an Azure Cloud Engineer; strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services is preferred, however experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is highly transferable.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Actions.
- Solid understanding of Agile and lean development methodologies, with practical experience applying these in cloud or IT delivery teams.
- Experience working within IT service management frameworks like ITIL, COBIT, or equivalent in a corporate setting.
- Ability to lead and develop team members, driving a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to influence change across teams.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with ability to lead team members and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
