Job Title: Project Asset Planner

The project asset planner plays a critical role in ensuring the effective delivery of planned capital works. This involves facilitating the planning phase, acting as a sponsor or investment assurer for applicable projects, and undertaking shorter-term planning activities to support capital plan delivery.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Delivering the planning phase of the project, including life cycle cost analysis, business risk assessment, and determination of functional business requirements and benefits.
  • Developing project development briefs that capture clear needs and objective statements, battery limits, and terms of reference for option selection.
  • Liaising with the project delivery team throughout the project lifecycle, including providing timely review of requests for changes to project budget and scope.
  • Acting as a project sponsor or investment assurer for projects within the position's area of accountability, providing assurance of effective delivery.
  • Negotiating with the project delivery team and key stakeholders on project objectives and handover requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated capability in capital program sponsorship and implementation.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in working within a team environment to achieve corporate and business unit objectives and maximise operational performance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and networking skills.
  • Strong report writing skills and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as engineering, or equivalent level of operational experience.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of asset management.
