Biomedical Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Biomedical Technician to join our team in delivering technical services and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.

About the Role:

  • This role involves providing expert advice on repair and maintenance techniques, conducting thorough inspections to identify potential issues, and collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior practitioners.
  • The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To be an integral part of a team delivering technical services including repairs, planned maintenance and other technology support services.
  2. To provide expert advice on repair and maintenance techniques.
  3. To conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues.
  4. To collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior practitioners.
  5. To have knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in biomedical engineering, electronics engineering or equivalent field.
  • Knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.
  • Ability to provide guidance and support to students and less experienced practitioners.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior practitioners.
  • Honesty, integrity and respect for all staff, clients and other healthcare workers.
