Delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products as a skilled engine technician requires a strong foundation in engine mechanics, diagnostics, and electrical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete repairs and maintenance of heavy diesel products
  • Diagnose and repair engines, disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components
  • Engine rebuilding and reconditioning
  • Maintain work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
  • Assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms
Requirements:
  • Australian recognized Trade certificate (heavy or light vehicle)
  • Apprentice-trained engine technician (preferred)
  • Service and maintenance experience in heavy diesel products, mining equipment, power generation on engines, including engine overhauls and major repairs
  • Solid diagnostic capabilities

Technical Skills:
  • Diagnostics Application: Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plans and diagnoses computer software to isolate failed components
  • Electrical Knowledge: Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards on working with low and/or high voltage
  • Electronic Service Tool Application: Identifies and utilizes electronic tool sets to maintain products or diagnose issues
  • Engine Systems Interactions: Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems
  • Product Repair and Maintenance: Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines
  • Service Documentation: Creates and verifies customer, equipment, and technical information
  • Technical Escalation: Obtains product technical issue information and elevates issues to higher levels of expertise
