Mental Health Peer Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Peer Worker to join our team. As a Mental Health Peer Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with mental health issues, promoting hope and resilience through a person-led, strengths-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support consumers in their journey of recovery, fostering respectful, professional relationships along the way.
- Utilize lived experience and personal stories to help others further their understanding of recovery and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with a dedicated team to provide support and guidance to consumers, promoting hope and resilience.
Essential Qualifications:
- Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent qualification.
- Lived experience of mental illness and a rich understanding of personal processes of recovery.
- A willingness to share personal story for the benefit of others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Experience working with diverse populations and communities.
