As a Senior Consultant in our Risk Advisory Service line, you will work closely with Partners and Senior Management to deliver internal audits, management reviews, and provide advice to clients.
Your client portfolio will consist primarily of NSW State Government Organisations, across a range of Government Clusters. You will also have opportunities to work with Local and Federal Government Organisations, Not-For-Profits, and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver internal audits, business risk assurance, and business process improvement projects in accordance with BDO's methodologies and procedures.
- Work with clients to recommend policy, procedural, process, system, and control improvements through the internal audit process.
- Participate in business development activities, such as networking events, drafting proposal responses, and pitching to prospective clients.
- Prepare scoping documents, reports for projects undertaken, and assist with the development of new methodologies and service offerings.
- Collaborate with Partners and Senior Managers to assist with scheduling of work across the practice.
- Contribute to the development of junior staff in a mentoring capacity.
- Maintain relationships with clients and work with internal stakeholders to create future business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in Internal Audit or Risk Consulting. Your analytical, investigative skills, and logical approach to risk assessment and management will set you apart.
Additionally, the following experience/skills will be highly regarded:
- An accounting or business-related degree and any other relevant certifications or qualifications.
- A working knowledge and understanding of basic internal audit and risk management practices and standards.
- Knowledge and experience in undertaking internal audits, risk assessments, risk management framework reviews, etc.
- Experience working with public sector clients.
- Experience in internal auditing of basic financial processes and controls as well as internal auditing of operational processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exposure to Enterprise Resource Management systems.
