Senior Consultant – Internal Audit Expert

Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Risk Advisory Service line in Sydney. As a Senior Consultant, you will work closely with Partners and Senior Management to deliver internal audits, management reviews, and provide advice to clients. Your client portfolio will consist primarily of NSW State Government Organisations, across a range of Government Clusters.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver internal audits, business risk assurance, and business process improvement projects in accordance with BDO's methodologies and procedures.
- Report writing and communicating directly with clients.
- Recommend policy, procedural, process, system, and control improvements through the internal audit process.
- Participate in business development activities such as networking events, drafting proposal responses, and pitching to prospective clients.
- Prepare scoping documents in response to client requests, prepare reports for projects undertaken, and assist with the development of new methodologies and service offerings.
- Collaborate with Partners and Senior Managers to assist with scheduling of work across the practice.
- Contribute to the development of junior staff in a mentoring capacity.
- Maintain relationships with clients and work with internal stakeholders to create future business opportunities.
- Demonstrable experience in Internal Audit or Risk Consulting.
- Analytical, investigative skills, and a logical approach to risk assessment and management.
- Accounting or business-related degree and any other relevant certifications or qualifications (or currently obtaining).
- Working knowledge and understanding of basic internal audit and risk management practices and standards.
- Experience working with public sector clients and internal auditing of basic financial processes and controls.
