Senior Consultant – Internal Audit Expert

Our services include internal audit, outsourced risk management, process mapping, control remediation, risk workshops, risk consulting, and third-party assurance.
Current OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Risk Advisory Service line. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Partners and Senior Management to deliver internal audits, management reviews, and provide advice to clients. Your client portfolio will consist primarily of NSW State Government Organisations, across a range of Government Clusters.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver internal audits, business risk assurance, and business process improvement projects in accordance with BDO's methodologies and procedures.
- Work with clients to recommend policy, procedural, process, system, and control improvements through the internal audit process.
- Participate in business development activities, such as networking events, drafting proposal responses, and pitching to prospective clients.
- Prepare scoping documents, reports, and assist with the development of new methodologies and service offerings.
- Collaborate with Partners and Senior Managers to assist with scheduling of work across the practice.
- Mentor junior staff and maintain relationships with clients to create future business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in Internal Audit or Risk Consulting. Your analytical, investigative skills, and logical approach to risk assessment and management will set you apart. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of basic internal audit and risk management practices and standards, as well as experience working with public sector clients.
